2010 World Women's Curling and Keith's Patch Humour!

Swift Current is hosting the biggest sporting event going on in the country at the moment and there is plenty of excitement.

The weekend for me kicked off on Friday with the Gala Event. The K-Motel put on a fine meal. In fact, it was probably the best K-Motel catered meal I've ever had... and I've had a few! ;) Following a great program I found myself at the table of team Denmark. Very friendly gals. I had a quick visit with them, wished them good luck and asked for a picture. They obliged but all I had was my blackberry. Their coach took a few pictures but wasn't satisfied with the turnout. It was at that point that the team's second Denise Dupont offered to take the picture with her digital camera and email it to me later. I was caught a little off-guard by that and could only imagine what it must of looked like to everyone in the room when two seconds after posing for a picture, I immediately get handed a piece of paper and a pen from this gal and begin writing a note for her. Probably not very good. But, it was kind of funny.

Saturday, my brother Shannon came down and we took in the evening draw. Watched Canada pick up their first win of the event over Sweden and then we hit the Keith's Patch. My brother and I had a real fun night in the patch that kept us up well in to the evening. The band was great and it's packed... check it out this week if you have a chance!

On Sunday night, my friend Mike and I took in the another draw to see Canada's 3rd straight win and made another MUCH shorter visit to Keith's Patch. Before the band starts they have an event MC who does a few contests and bits to keep the crowd entertained.

One of his bits was showing this video. He claims this is from an episode of Who's Line is it Anyway with Richard Simmons that never aired. I don't know if that's true or not but it's REALLY funny! Apparently the entire episode is available online but I just have the segment they showed on the big screen. Worth 6 minutes of your time I promise!

Funny Stuff.

Go Canada!

Um, my memory might be a little foggy, but I'm pretty sure Saturday's trip to the Patch kept you up until well into the MORNING, not the evening LOL. RG
